*grr…Evil Nelvana….*  I downloaded this off of Morpheus out of curiosity, and was happy to find that it was the *real* series finale of CCS! Joy!  The entire thing takes place AFTER Sakura created the nameless card from her tears (*coughandloveforSyaroancough*), a.k.a. the last few minutes of the episode that NELVANA chose to cut out. The scene is at the airport, right before Syaoran has to leave.  Sakura catches up with him right before he leaves, and they have one of those oh-so-kawaii, both-blushing-like-mad scenes.  Sakura finally asks if she can have the teddy bear that Syaoran had made, and he says yes.  That’s where the clip picks up from.  This is the unedited, exact version.  I described every scene in as much detail as I possibly could.  It’s almost like a music video, with flashbacks of cute S+S moments throughout the entire series (happy, happy!) playing without dialogue or any other sound except the song: “I am a dreamer”, the third season theme song.  Translated lyrics are below.

~*~

The scene fades in to a pair of hands as they exchange a small, gray teddy bear…the same one Syaoran had made back in episode 51.  As they touch, overlapping in the process, a bright glow surrounds the entire settling, as well as the two pairs of hands holding the bear, and the music begins:

I am a dreamer, hisomu pawaa….

A close-up of Syaoran’s face is now shown, looking at Sakura, smiling very shyly; a hint of red is on his cheeks.  The camera then switches to Sakura as she looks at Syaoran, teddy bear in hand, also smiling/blushing slightly

Watashi no sekai

[Scene flashes back to a time early on in the card-capturing.  Syaoran comes flying down in his martial arts outfit, surprising Sakura.  Her arms wave madly as she stands/half-hangs from what looks like the peak of the clock tower—her outfit is a pink, frilly dress with pink cat ears] (1)

yume to koi to fuan de dekiteru

[Scene switches to a later time.  A strong wind is slowly blowing Sakura—wearing the blue/red three-musketeers outfit—away as she clutches on to a nearby tree for support.  Syaoran faces the wind, sword in hand, as he steadily walks towards whatever it was causing this wind]

[For a brief moment, we see another time when Syaoran is having a flashback of Sakura, staff in hand, as she tries to tell him something]

demo souzou mo shinai mono,

[Scene of Syaoran running from something, but looking back just in time to see Sakura getting pulled into a black hole in the trunk of the magic Cherry Blossom Tree.  She struggles to get free to no avail.  Syaoran takes out his sword, and prepares to go and rescue her (aww…).  He charges forward.] (2)

kakureteru hazu

[Scene of Sakura as her head suddenly pops up in almost surprise; Syaoran has one arm around her protectively, with the other hand gripping to his sword, which is pointed downward.  The “Dream” card is pinned to the floor, still glowing, by his blade.  Scene quickly zooms out to reveal Tomoyo and Meiling standing nearby, both looking concerned.  Syaoran still had one arm around Sakura, and she is leaning in slightly towards him] (3)

sora ni mukau

[Scene temporarily switches to the two of them in a giant blizzard.  Sakura, sitting on her staff, holds out her hand for Syaoran to climb on behind her.  He has a look of surprise on his face as he stares at her hand stupidly, a slight blush on his cheeks.] (4)

kiki noyouni anata o

[Scene of Sakura, in a Prince costume, and Syaoran, in a pink frilly dress and blond wig (lmao!), standing on a giant bed on a stage.  Sakura says something to him, then jumps forward, glomping him in happiness (^_^).  Syaoran just stands completely stiff in shock, staring out in front of him, then turns RED.] (5)

massugu mitsumeteru

[Scene at night, with Sakura in yet another one of Tomoyo’s pink costumes and Syaoran in his traditional Chinese robes.  Sakura is swinging Syaoran around happily, celebrating another successful Sakura card transformation, but then gets overexcited and accidentally lets go; Syaoran ends up falling to the ground.  Tomoyo just stands in the background, smiling at the scene.] (6)

mitsu kentia naa, kanaetai naa

[Sakura is slowly falling backwards off of the elevator, with Syaoran trying to catch her in time.  He almost reaches her hand, but at the last second she slips out of his graps and falls towards the darkness, still reaching out for him.  Overcome with grief, he (silently) screams out her name] (7)

shinjiru sore dakede

[A small scene of the two standing out side as snow lightly falls.  Syaoran, who was leaning on a rail, suddenly stands up stiff in surprise, staring straight out in from of him when Sakura, standing to the right of Syaoran and facing him, tries to get his attention.] (8)

koerarenai mono wa nai
utau youni kiseki no youni
[omoi] ga subete o

[Scene shows closeup of Sakura’s back as she leans forward onto Syaoran’s chest, crying slightly.  Syaoran carefully places his arms around her in comfort. A temporary view of the two of them as a slight distance is seen, zooming from around their waists upward, as they embrase. We then see Syaoran’s face, smiling as he says something to her, then closes his eyes and rests his chin on the top of her head.  The camera then switches to Sakura’s face, her forhead still leaning on his chest, as her eyes quiver with tears.  She listens to what he has to say to her, then gives a half-smile and appears a bit happier…more at peace, in a way.] (9)

kaete yuku yo

[Temporary scene of Sakura facing Syaoran, who has his back to her but glances over his shoulder in curiosity, as she says something to him, a calm, happy look on her face.  (Hehe…oh, Syaoran, you blushing again!) He gets a look of surprise from what she says, but still doesn’t turn around.]

kitto, kitto, otoroku kurai

[Scene shows Sakura extending a pinky towards Syaoran, who is looking down, worried for her.  He looks up to see her pinky extended, then up at her in question (omg—I luv the look on his face; it’s so adorable!).  Sakura (once again, soundlessly) promises that she’ll come back safely, as the camera zooms in on her face, gently smiling as always.] (10)

**music slowly fades out**

The scene fades from the last flashback, back to the airport scene.  We see Sakura’s back from a distance as she looks out the window towards the planes.

Sakura: I’ll be waiting for you…

The scene once more fades to black, as the nameless card (unofficially called “Love”) slowly turns around from filling up the entire screen, shrinking with each turn until it reaches the center of the black screen, so that we get a good look at it, before fading out into the black….

1-       From, I’m pretty sure, the Time Card episode (Sakura’s One Endless Day).  Not much sap just yet, but it was pretty funny, especially for an opening scene.

2-       The episode where Sakura gets pulled back in time with “The Return” card, and sees her brother and Kaho in the past. (Sakura and the Shrine of Memories)  A really sweet episode, because we get a glimpse at how much Syaoran has come to care for her, as he risked much of his magic just to bring her back (^_^)

3-       (Sakura and the Sakura in the Dream) Sakura was unknowingly caught in “The Dream” card’s magic, and Syaoran gently brought her out of it, capturing the card in the process—very kawaii.

4-       Sakura and Syaoran face the “Snow” card in this episode. (Sakura and a Snowy New School Year)  It’s not particularly one of my favorites, but I do like the way Syaoran reacts to the thought of flying on Sakura’s staff with her!

5-       Haha…this is, without a doubt, one of my favorite Clow Card season episodes! Completely hilarious!  The whole thing was completely worth it to see Syaoran in that outfit! ^_^  Getting back on track, this is the episode where Sakura simultaneously captures the Light and Dark card. (Sakura’s Totally Dark Literary Fest)

6-       (Sakura and the Panic Bicycle) A cute scene where Sakura celebrates catching “The Dash” card after it ran off in a panic, possessing Touya’s bicycle in the process.  She had also transformed “The Loop” card in order to do so.

7-       S+S fans rejoice!  The episode we all love, where Syaoran finally figures out he loves Sakura, Sakura and Syaoran get trapped together in an elevator (courtesy of Eriol), and the two end up on a first-name basis by the end of the show; sneaky Eriol…this is why I like him so much! ^_^  (Sakura, Syaoran, and the Elevator)

8-       I don’t really know what episode this scene is from, but I’m pretty sure it’s when Sakura invites Syaoran to go to the winter festival with her in exchange for being such a good friend…*shrugs*

9-       *sigh* Forget the elevator episode…this is the absolute most kawaii S+S moment in the entire series!  Feeling sad about the Yukito-situation, Sakura asks Syaoran to go to the park with her, where she ends up crying on his shoulder.  He ends up comforting her, telling her it will be okay, and making her feel better (*squeals*).  I’ve yet to see the actual episode, but the pictures and scenes I have seen are KAWAII! (Sakura and the One She Loves Most)

10-    (Sakura, the Past, and Clow Reed) A VERY cute scene that stupid Nelvana cut from the dub *grrr* Just before Sakura uses her magic to travel back in time so she can talk with Clow Reed and ask him about what’s been going on, she sees the worried look that Syaoran has on his face.  Promising to come back okay, Sakura makes a little pinky swear with him, which seems to make Syaoran feel a little better about her leaving; Tomoyo just stands off to the side with one of her “looks”

I’m not sure about the few other scenes as to what episodes they’re from, or what was happening, but hopefully I described them enough so that you had a clue what was going on.

And for those of you who, like me, do *not* speak fluent Japanese, here are the English-translated lyrics to “I am a dreamer”:

I am a dreamer, Power yet undiscovered

Love and anxiety

Make up my world

But there must be things I never imagined hidden within

Like the trees facing the sky

You set your sights straight ahead

How I wish to find out; How I wish it to be fulfilled

There is nothing that cannot be surpassed

Just by believing

Like a song, like a miracle

“Ideas” change everything

I’m sure you’ll be surprised….*

*[There’s actually more, but this is all that was featured in the CCS series finale]

Yes, this was *the* Japanese ending to Card Captor Sakura, continued only in the CCS second movie (which I have on DVD! *clutches subtitled movie she got off of e-bay to her chest* And it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!).  Now, if only Nelvana could’ve taken a lesson from CLAMP and come up with something even HALF as good.  That dub ending literally made me cry, and not because I found it sad or touching either….  And so, I turned to morpheus, where I had this downloaded, and watched the whole thing over again to make me feel better.  Know what?  It did, so I figured I’d share it with those of you who haven’t seen it yet with the hopes that it will partially make up for what Nelvana did to one of our favorite animes.  Now if you’ll excuse me…*takes one of Gene Starwind (Outlaw Star)’s guns* I’ve got a little “revenge” of my own….
